Today’s task as soon as I am done at the office is ordering parts for phase 1: Mechanical :

Should probably have them shipped to the shop, but part of me wants them sent to my office so I can open them.

Phase 2 is suspension and brakes.

Phase 3 is wheels and tires.  

13" wheel and tire recommendations are welcome.

I saw an X/19  just like yours last night.  I would have taken a photo, but they were just leaving the Chevron when I arrived.

Seems like a few forum posts are saying that X1/9s were originally fitted with Michelin XAS tires which you can get reproductions for a price.

13" is kinda limited but it’s not like you need performance tires anyways.

As for wheels, you can’t go wrong with anything Cromodora

May I interest you in some cool vintage wheels? Downside is that they’re located on the opposite side of the country from you ...BUT THE PRICE IS WORTH THE PERIOD-CORRECTNESS!

Go to factory style 14" wheels.

Much much easier to find tires for. And if you can’t find 14's, 15x6's with P195/50R15.

For 13" tires you have two options:

* Track tires which will be junk in 1000 miles on the road and v. bad in the rain

* Shitty chinese all-seasons

I’ve spent two years looking for a good summer tire for my RX7 in 13", I pretty much gave up in the fall.

Not sure how much you plan to do yourself, but everything in phase 1 is pretty simple to do. No real complications :)

If you get stuck at all with the brakes just let me know. Depending on what you’re doing they can be a bit finicky...
